The workshop will start on Thursday at 14:00 with an opening talk by ZEE visitor Prof. Ian Rowlands from the School of Environment, Resources and Sustainability at the University of Waterloo, about current research in his university, followed by 3-5 short talks by ZEE members, reporting on ZEE research in general and in particular w.r.t. electric power grid control and energy communities, airborne wind energy, and seasonal heat storage. Talks will have only 10-20 minutes duration, and there will be time between and after the talks for discussing potential research synergies, in particular in the context of Horizon Europe.

As part 2 of the workshop, an in-depth discussion on “Modelling and Optimization of Seasonal Thermal Energy Storage” will take place on Friday from 8:00-10:00, starting with the Master Defense of Wonsun Song in Room 01-012, Georges-Köhler-Allee 102, 79110 Freiburg, followed by time to interact with Prof. Rowlands and the ZEE members from 9:00-10:00.
